Automatic lathe dog JCM

When producing certain components between centers, it is sometimes absolutely necessary to drive them with as little shear force as possible. In order to ensure concentricity in such applications, a so-called automatic lathe dog is often used.
The company JCM GmbH from Lengnau/Switzerland has developed a new type of automatic lathe dog system with pneumatic 2-point actuation, which will also be used in M+M Mai machines in the future.
The JCM lathe dog has a manually adjustable clamping force and covers many requirements. Thanks to the large clamping stroke, fully automated processes can now be implemented risk-free. The actuation is pneumatic and is possible for rotating or stationary centers. The system is available in sizes 125 mm and 88 mm.

Advantages

  • maximum concentricity thanks to driving with almost no transverse forces
  • higher machine utilization and lower manufacturing costs
  • conversion only necessary for tool-specific tooling

Lathe dog variant for rotating centers
● Lathe dog size 125 mm or 88 mm
● Actuation using precision 2-B chuck D125 from PMH

Note: Alternatively, the smaller 2-B chuck D 100 mm from PMH can be used for the DHZ 88. The chuck with DHZ is also very suitable for applications with zero point clamping systems (see picture)

Lathe dog variant for standing and rotating centers

  • Lathe dog size 125 mm or 88 mm
  • Actuation unit from Elaso
